Everyone knows the feeling with wich om´ne stands shivering on a spring-board, the shock when a afriendly foe steals up behind and hurls you into the flood, and the ardent glow which thrills you as you emerge breatheless from the plunge"

The Ebb and Flow of Life Shaped my Relationship with Art
Rediscovering Art: A Journey Through Time and Places
I have always been captivated by aesthetics and the world of art. Growing up in Soviet Latvia, I was fortunate to receive an excellent education in Riga, where I had the privilege of being mentored by a fantastic art teacher. Those early years laid the foundation for my appreciation of artistic expression, setting the stage for a lifelong journey with creativity. I graduaded from the University with a Masters Degree in Arts (MA) and left my diploma on the shelf as I went working in the corporate world.
As life unfolded, the practice of art became a sporadic pursuit. Family holiday breaks, demanding business trips, lonely hotel nights, and countless airplane journeys created a patchwork of artistic endeavors. There were times when years would pass before I could once again feel the texture of a drawing pad. However, with the settling of family dynamics, the growth of children, and a gradual easing of professional demands, I found myself drawn back to the artistic pursuits .
The portfolio that I present below is a testament to this journey—a journey that spans several decades. Each piece tells a unique story, capturing moments of inspiration, self-discovery, and creative evolution. The diversity within the body of work reflects the various phases of my life, from the drawing dating back to 1989, during my 7th-grade year, to the more recent expression.
The years spent away from the canvas only served to deepen my appreciation for the transformative power of art. Through the strokes of a brush or the precision of a pencil, I rediscover the joy of self-expression and the limitless possibilities that lie within the realm of creativity.
As I continue to explore the boundless world of art, I invite you to join me on this journey. The pieces shared in this portfolio are not just images on paper; they are windows into moments, emotions, and the ever-evolving narrative of a life intertwined with the love for aesthetics. With each line and stroke, I find myself reconnecting not only with the artistic process but also with the core of who I am—a testament to the enduring power of art to shape, inspire, and illuminate the path of self-discovery.
